For my photographers....I am SO super excited about WPPI...are you all!??? My Platform speech this year will be about location photography and light. I have received a LOT of questions from people about things they wanted me to touch on, and I will definitely do that. If anyone has any other natural light, or location photography concerns, please post them here, and I will touch on them at my speech.
Im speaking on Sunday... March 7th from 2:30 - 4:30pm. in rooms 319 - 320. Now although I am not speaking on business, I will be giving out some GREAT door prizes from some vendors that I work with business wise. So I will be giving out a CUSTOM BLOG from the fabulous ITDR (Intothedarkroom..) they designed my website...as well as some Slideshare Max software which is what I use for my online galleries. I will also be giving away some albums, and other goodies...so be sure to stop by!!
I hope to see you all there!!!!!!!
Some more pictures.... How cute is this little 2yo? I actually captured this at my workshop in October. It was one of those "hidden gems". It was at the end, and the 2yo's were all burnt out, and surprisingly, I caught this one while other photog's were photographing her at the same time. |

| This is a family I just met in December. They were actually my last session for the Holiday season. They were referred to me by a dear, dear, dear, dear (did I say dear?) client of mine!! I love this family, and look forward to many more sessions with them! |

Yes... yes.. I know it has taken me long to post this! I apologize! I wasn't sure what I was going to do, and then after working in New York for almost 2 weeks for my commercial shoot..things were all over the place.
This year, I didn't collect a list of names, and instead told those who emailed me that I would post it on the blog. Here's the details!
* My personal workshops are the only workshops where I will talk business...in depth... nothing is held back. Some things I will touch on..
- proven marketing techniques and why they work. I will discuss my successes, and my failures and why.
- creating a buzz for you and your business.
- how to keep your clients coming back.
- This year, I will have some of my clients come in and discuss what I do well AND what I can do better. (...yes.. this will be painful! haha!) I think others can learn from my mistakes.
- We will shoot both indoors and out (weather permitting..) in natural light 100%.
- In addition to shooting yourself, you will watch me shoot, and you will not only see the images I capture right on my LCD, but you will see me upload them that very same day. I will show any editing from beginning to end. No questions are off limits.
- because everyone's situation is different, I will give a 15 min one on one with each participant where they can talk about anything they would like.
- a personal critique of your work.
...and much, much more.
Class are limited to 18ppl. Spaces are reserved when your retainer is paid. The cost of the workshop is $800 and it will take place in my studio. Continental breakfast, and full catered lunch is provided on both days.
UPDATE*****BOTH workshops are FULL...there is no waiting list. Thank you all so much!!!!!!!!!!!*****
The dates for this year are..... May 15th - 16th & June 12th and 13th.
For my U.K visitors, the dates and information will be emailed out on Friday, Feb 18th. UPDATE...London workshop information has been sent out. The dates are June 22nd - June 23rd. The cost for the London workshop is $1250USD. Full catered lunch included.
Because I can't post without a picture......... :)
I have been photographing this family forever. Funny thing is when I met this little guy he was 8 months I believe with these piercing blue eyes. Now they are a killer green! Such a heartbreaker!

You know I sometimes feel like a mother to the children I photograph...so when they are involved in good things, I want to shout it from the rooftops just like their parents do!
Danielle is a girl I've been photographing, and I adore her as well as her mother. I know how much they have wanted to make Danielle's dreams come true, and when I talk to Danielle, I know how much she wants it!
She is staring in her first Disney movie called Starstruck that is airing this Sunday at 7PM on the Disney Channel!
This is only the beginning Danielle!!

Im super excited about WPPI this year! This year I am going to talk about natural light photography on location. I know last year we had that whole mishap with my Platform class filling up to capacity within minutes. I also heard much later that there were a lot of upset people that were outside the door, and even more upset people that were asked to leave by the Fire Marshalls.
In my perfect world... I would rather have a small MasterClass that is limited to a small portion of people. However... just due to a lot of things that are out of my hands....that isn't possible. SOOOOOO...
The good news is that they have me in a super large room. I was told it will hold about 900+ ppl. The downside is... how personable can THAT be!?? So.. although I have the core of my program already prepared, I thought I would find out from those that are planning to attend.. what questions do you have? Problems you encounter? New things that you hope to learn?
My number one goal is to make sure that no one leaves with a question. One thing I learned from teaching workshops is that there are some things that might be completely obvious to me, or things that I don't feel make a difference in the final outcome of a picture......are a big deal to others.
So if you have questions.. post them here, and I will make SURE I cover them. Or you can always email me @ audrey@alwphotography.com
Now you know I can't post without a picture.. so here are some cuties I had in late November before I closed for the year. Their eyes were to die for!!
ETA - thanks for the questions posted below and to those that emailed me! Robin - it was great meeting you too! I will definitely show some before after shots.. for sure! |

Just a quick note...
I haven't forgotten about my blog! Just a tad bit buried here, but I vowed that I would at least post a picture everyday or every other day! I will be hopefully posting more later today.
Quick note...
Weekend mornings are booked for the rest of the year. I might be able to squeeze in older toddlers/children in the afternoon. Babies are simply better in the morning. If you have a very early riser (...around 8am...not 5am!) we might be able to work something out for a Loft session only...if I am scheduled to be in the loft.
Ok...can't post without a picture. This is an adorable 2-yr old I had recently!
Until Next Time...
